The Outstanding Student Paper Competition offers a $100 cash award at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. All papers submitted will be reviewed for presentation as posters at the conference (although student authors may choose to decline if their papers are accepted for poster presentation). The two Paper Award Winners will present their papers at the state conference in Fort Worth. Conference attendance is a requirement for receiving an award. The graduate student paper will also be entered in the National Council on Family Relations Outstanding Student Paper competition. The NCFR national award winners will receive cash awards to assist them in attending the next national conference.
Purpose: Each year, the Texas Council on Family Relations invites students to submit a paper for consideration in TCFR’s annual student paper competition. One award each will be given for the most outstanding undergraduate and graduate paper. Papers will also be considered for a poster presentation at the annual conference, although students may decline to present, if chosen.
Student Eligibility: Students must attend the Fort Worth TCFR Conference on April 3 & 4, 2014.
Deadline: Papers must be received by December 16, 2013. Winners will be notified by January 23, 2014. Winners will be notified by January 25, 2014, and will notify Student Paper Awards Committee as to whether they will accept the award, attend the conference and present the paper as a poster by February 7, 2014.
